WebDAV IIS: Pre-settings required beforehand for Installing and Configuring

All the points mentioned below must be pre-installed in the PC before to run WebDAV IIS.

For this, IIS 7.0 or newer versions must be  pre-installed on the user’s  server, after that it must be configured as  follows:

    1. The Default Web Site that is created by the IIS 7.0 installation must still exist.
    2. The Internet Information Services Manager must be installed.
    3. At least one authentication method must be installed.
    4. The WebDAV Redirector must be installed for Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, or Windows Server 2012. (The WebDAV Redirector is already installed on Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8.) To install the WebDAV Redirector, use Server Manager to install the Desktop Experience feature.

10 Steps For Installing the WebDAV IIS Extension

  1. First of all, go to Control Panel and then click Programs after that Programs and Features.
  2. Then select  Turn Windows features On or Off.
  3. After this, you will be redirected to the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager console, under Connections, select your server name.
  4. Also from Connections, expand your web server, Sites, and select your website.
  5. Double-click WebDAV Authoring and then Enable WebDAV. After this Click on WEBDAV settings
  6. In settings, select the directory or virtual directory where you want to allow WebDAV access. After that Double-click WebDAV Authoring.
  7.  After this, you need to Click Add Authoring Rule and add the appropriate rules for your environment.
  8. Right-click the directory or virtual directory you added authoring rules to, and click Edit Permissions.
  9. Click Security, and add the appropriate permissions.
  10. This will result in WEbDAV being enabled on IIS. now users can easily upload or send images to their reports as per as their desire.
